NATURE AND SCOPE OF ADVICE

TLIM Insurance Services Ltd advisers provide advice about:

  1. ·       Personal insurance (risk), including health insurance.
  2. ·       Business Risk Insurance (Key Person, Shareholder Protection benefits, Business Overheads/Expenses)
  3. ·       ACC advice

 

We provide advice in relation to the following insurance products:

  • ·       Life insurance
  • ·       Trauma insurance
  • ·       Total and permanent disability insurance
  • ·       Income Protection insurance
  • ·       Mortgage and household expenses cover
  • ·       Health/medical insurance

We provide advice in relation to products provided by the following companies:

 AIA, AMP, Asteron, Cigna, Fidelity Life, NIB, Partners Life, Southern Cross


CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

For life insurance and health insurance, TLIM Insurance Services Limited and the financial adviser receive commissions from the insurance companies whose policies we can recommend. If you decide to take out insurance that we recommend, the insurer will pay a commission to TLIM Insurance Services Limited and/or the adviser who provides your advice. The amount of the commission is based on the amount of premium associated with your cover; specific commissions will be advised to you when advice is provided.

To ensure that our financial advisers prioritise the client’s interests above their own, we follow an advice process that ensures our personalised recommendations are made on the basis of the client’s goals and circumstances, as advised to us. TLIM Insurance Services Limited financial advisers complete regular training, including how to manage conflicts of interest. Each adviser has a regular compliance review of their advice process and our compliance programme is reviewed annually by our external compliance adviser.


DISPUTES AND COMPLAINTS

If you are not satisfied with our financial advice service you can make a complaint by emailing zac@tliminsurance.co.nz, or by calling 0800 9227874. When we receive a complaint, we will consider it using our internal complaints process:

·       We will consider your complaint and let you know how we intend to resolve it. We may need to contact you to get further information about your complaint.

·       We aim to resolve complaints within 10 working days of receiving them. If we cannot, we will contact you within that time to let you know we need more time to consider your complaint.

·       We will contact you by phone or email to let you know whether we can resolve your complaint and how we propose to do so.

If we cannot resolve your complaint, or you are not satisfied with the way we propose to do so, you can contact Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsman. IFSO provides a free, independent dispute resolution service that may help investigate or resolve your complaint if we have not been able to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction. It is of utmost importance to us to protect your privacy and confidentiality. We understand that users of our web site may be concerned about the use of their data and that they  require some affirmation that their data will not be used for any purpose unintended by them, and will not accidentally fall into the hands of a third party. What information do we collect and what do we do with it?

Here is a list of the information we collect from you, either through our web site or because you give it to us in some other way, and why it is necessary to collect it: 

 

1. Business and personal information

This includes basic identification and contact information (such as your name, phone number, email address, postal address, physical address) and also includes all information given to us in the course of your business and ours, such as information you give us in your capacity as our client. We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of the information and of the terms of our relationship. It is not used for any other purpose. We expect you to reciprocate this policy.

Link Financial Group Limited head office may collect personal information directly from you for insurance-related purposes including a request to find an adviser, such as: 

  • Completing and submitting the Contact Us form
  • Completing or submitting any Online application and/or Specific Campaign forms.

We use the personal information collected from you through the use of our online forms to forward to one of our accredited advisers to provide further information or assess your specific request only. We have contractual commitments from our advisers to also protect your personal information.

The Privacy Act 2020 gives you the right to retract your application form, request for your information to be corrected or revised. 

This information is used: 

1.1. to provide you with the services which you request;

1.2. for verifying your identity for security purposes;

1.3. for marketing our services and products;

1.4. information which does not identify any individual may be used in a general way by us or third parties, to provide class information, for example relating to demographics or usage of a particular page or service.

We keep information, which forms part of our business records for a minimum of seven years since we may need it in some way to support a claim or defence in court. Seven years is also the period within which our tax collecting authorities may demand to know it.
